Beyond Housing's Homeownership Center is helping make the dream of homeownership a reality for families in St. Louis and surrounding areas. We assist current and prospective homeowners throughout the St. Louis region in their efforts to acquire and maintain their homes. Our educational workshops, one-on-one personalized services, and other services are designed to help families and individuals build and maintain wealth through savings and equity in their homes.
Education and Counseling
Catch the Dream – Keep the Dream: This unique homeownership program provides education and one-on-one counseling to prepare participants to make informed choices throughout the home buying process. Catch the Dream includes: 8 hours of valuable home buyer education (in classroom or on-line), a private session with a homeownership counselor to outline financial goals, review the credit report, assist with credit repair (where applicable), assess available programs and provide referrals to Beyond Housing partners, including professional lenders, realtors, home inspectors and property insurers. Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Programs
Beyond Housing can also provide down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible families who purchase qualifying homes in approved jurisdictions. For information about the current availability of funds, please check the sidebar on the right side of this web page for Breaking News.
The staff of Beyond Housing's NeighborWorks® Homeownership Center is excited to be a part of your Homebuyer's Team. Your Homebuyer's Team works together to make the dream of homeownership a reality for you and your family. We know that homeownership is an asset-building and wealth-creating experience. As a team, we collectively strive to help each client successfully compete the home buying process in as timely and stress-free manner as possible.
Lenders or Realtors interested in learning more about our program can attend our free Lender/Realtor Training Class from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the Beyond Housing Main office, 4156 Manchester Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110. Individual Development Accounts (IDAs)
Assets for Life: We partner with the United Way and other nonprofits to offer Individual Development Accounts (a matched savings program) that encourage families to save for housing, business and educational goals. Participants are required to attend financial fitness training workshops and they receive one-on-one credit and budget counseling. Matching funds are provided to help participants build wealth more quickly. Click here for more information about IDAs.
