Beyond Housing administrators were pleasantly surprised to learn that the organization had been cited in Building Neighborhoods of Opportunity, the White House Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative Report published July 2011. In the Effective Neighborhood Revitalization Strategies section, the report cites Beyond Housing as an example of "building strategic and accountable partnerships" and describes some of the core elements of the Beyond Housing-led 24:1 Initiative taking place within the geographic footprint of Normandy School District. The report identifies several key elements for effective neighborhood revitalization. Beyond Housing’s ‘place-based’ approach incorporates all of the elements identified.
